In Our Community
Teachers Plus Credit Union is committed to giving back to our community. Locally based and locally owned, Credit Unions play a major role in fostering community well-being. Our success is directly related to the success of our communities across Nova Scotia. Our profits stay in the province, are reinvested in our local economies, and that is why we work to improve everyone’s quality of life. Supporting our local suppliers and businesses for products and services is one way we support our community, volunteering our time and efforts is another.
As a credit union started by teachers and designed for teachers, the teaching community in Nova Scotia continues to be a key focus of TPCU. We support teachers and the education system in various ways, from events like education week to providing important financial literacy seminars through the NSTU Pre-Retirement Seminars and our own budgeting seminars. As we are open to all member of our Nova Scotia community we also support local charities, most recently raising significant support for Margaret House in Dartmouth.
Whether through post-secondary education, volunteering for adult literacy or children's sports, we’re all active in our communities. The Credit Union staff and board support many events and associations, either by volunteering personal time or by donating & raising funds in their individual communities.
